The essence of the Mahayana is to have love
and compassion. Lots of prayer in the temple is fine, but nowadays we have global warming and so
much going with the planet, it might be a disaster. Buddhism and the Environment So we need action. Prayer alone is not enough. Actually, I always say now that we need to
bring the practice of the six paramitas into society. With love and compassion, in places that have problems and need help, we need to go and help! So that is the real practice of love and compassion. Doing that in society, this is what we need
to do.
