Encouraging Reflections For Our Community


– Hey guys, Dr. Josh here at
Steinke Family Chiropractic. I’m sitting on my front
porch after another busy day at the office and taking care of people who need to remain healthy and strong. I wanna talk to you
about a few things today that I think are crucial
in a time like this. The first is focusing on the positive. There are so many opportunities right now, and there are so many chances for us to be a positive impact
in other people’s lives, even in a time like this, right? Even from a distance we can show love and we can be neighborly and we can meet needs where they need to be met. And that’s crucial in a time like this, to come together as community,
to love one another, and to really help each other out. There are so many opportunities. So I encourage you to focus on those and not all the negativity
that is so rampant right now in our lives, including mine. That’ll do another things,
for our health specifically, when we focus on those
things, it’s gonna allow us to manage and adapt to stress better. When we focus on those things it’s gonna take our mind off all the negativity, which causes our body to
go into a stress mode. The last thing any of us
needs more right now of is stress and cortisol
in our bloodstreams. What I mean by that is
when we are in stress mode, or fight-or-flight mode,
or when we’re anxious, our body goes into this stress response that causes cortisol,
which is a stress hormone, to be released into the bloodstream. The more that that happens, the more often that that’s going on, the more our immune system is going to be compromised or diminished. That’s the last thing any
of us needs right now. And I don’t think anybody
would disagree with that. So how do we keep our body
in rest-and-digest mode, keep those cortisol
levels at a healthy level, and allow our body to continue to heal and fight as best as possible? Well there’s a lot of different things. Managing and adapting to
stress is one of those. Chiropractic care is actually
another huge part of that. When we get adjusted it allows our body to almost go into a reset, allows our body to go back into that
rest-and-digest and healing mode. Not only that, when you get adjusted, it allows our immune system
response to be heightened, which is what a lot of research has shown. And when that happens we give ourselves the best fighting chance to fight sickness and disease in a time like
this, and at any time. So I encourage you to
focus on the positive. Find ways to meet needs
and to love each other, and to really focus on the
opportunities that are out there, and to do specific things
like taking care of yourself, getting a chiropractic adjustment, and building your body’s systems up. So that you have the best
fighting chance to stay healthy, to stay strong, and to continue
to help those around you. God bless you guys, and
