greetings my friends welcome and thank
you for joining me today I’m Jen hilman and in this video I am
going to guide you through a relaxation stress relieving meditation so at the
end of a long day of work or after a long week of work or anytime that you’re
feeling that your stress and anxious feelings are high you can come and
follow along with this meditation to help you get grounded get centered and
come back to a place of sweet stillness inside yourself allowing you to calm
those anxious waters and arrive back at a place of untouchable stillness and
peace sound too good to be true go ahead and favorite this video give me a thumbs
up add it to your list of favorites so you can come back and practice along and
watch those stressful feelings melt away don’t forget to subscribe to the channel
and leave me your comments below then go ahead and make yourself comfortable you
can either start by sitting on a meditation cushion sitting in a chair
sitting up nice and tall with your feet flat on the floor another option here
would be to go ahead and just lie down you can put a blanket over you or a
pillow under your head so that you feel completely relaxed for me I fall asleep
if I’m laying down so I need to sit up but however you feel the most
comfortable is exactly how you should be so that you can enter into a space and
stillness and relaxation so once you get settled go ahead and
close your eyes as you do you can begin to turn your attention inward and begin
to notice the flow of your breath observe the in-breath and the little
pause at the top and observe the out-breath and the little pause at the
bottom and what you’ll notice is that as soon as you consciously turn your
awareness to your breath it automatically starts to deepen so go
with it let your breath slow down and notice if your inhale or
exhale is longer or shorter with minimal effort see if you can
elongate the breath so that your inhale and your exhale match sometimes we like
to count the breath counting the inhale and the exhale that is just one method
but it’s not necessary if you just pay close attention and observe the natural
rhythm of your breathing it will almost naturally and automatically begin to
sink and by now taking 3 to 5 to 10 slow deep breaths you may notice that your nervous system
is already beginning to unwind of course the mind is a very busy place
and almost always the source of all of our stress anxious feelings tension etc of course the circumstances of our lives
are happening triggering these feelings of stress but it is the nature of mind
to respond feeling stressed out overwhelmed overworked or anxious but when we turn to the breath we feel
it begin to slow and deepen and your awareness can drop down below
the surface of your thoughts as you move into a deeper place of ease so in this
moment as you sit or lie quietly there are no additional stimuli calling for
your attention so whatever circumstances in your life may be causing you to feel
stress in this moment in this moment there’s nothing to worry about all you
have to do now is observe your breath it’s so simple almost too easy and yet
it truly is the key to relaxation and rejuvenation spending this conscientious time simply
observing the flow of the breath in and out when we turn our awareness and follow
the breathing closely you will find that it just feels so good to breathe it is absolutely nourishing to every
single cell of your body this slow deep breath has an almost
immediate effect on our nervous system our heart rate our blood pressure and
all the other systems of our body can be regulated with this slow conscious
breath so feel your body unwind and even give your mind permission to
just relax if the thoughts start to wander if you start going into the
stories or you start drifting off into the stress scenarios just come back come
back to the breath come back to the stillness give yourself permission to
just let go for right now for this moment for this next breath just let it be you as you enter into this place of
stillness we call it dropping in we enter into a place where the meditation
starts to become comfortable where we’re no longer itching to get out of our seat we become easel restful in the moment we feel the wonderful ease that
relaxation brings and as we give our body and mind permission to relax fully
and completely we create a space for our body to heal for our hormones to balance for all of the systems in our body to
become regulated and returned to neutral by entering into this state of
relaxation your body has an opportunity to restore itself to harmony who feel that sense of balance growing
within you tune in to a growing sense of ease and relaxation and as you rest in this place make a little mental note about how it
feels to be in a place of stillness and know
that you can access this place any time simply by turning your
attention inward allowing the circumstances or the stories of your
life to fall into the background so that what you notice is your breathing and
let your breath guide you back to the place of stillness and ease take one
more full big deep breath in and pause at the top of your breath see if you can take in even just a
little bit more air feeling fully expansive in your inhale and exhale
slowly and deeply feeling your body grounded present and relaxed and as you feel ready and begin to
softly open your eyes coming back into awareness of the space and just notice how you feel now
compared to when you first entered into this meditation so again I invite you to
like this video so you can come back and follow along anytime you need to touch
this place at stillness and rest it is an honor and a pleasure to guide you in
the practice subscribe to the channel so you can come back and follow along with
