– [Announcer] This
program is brought to you by the partners of A Rood
Awakening International. Help others find truth. Support A Rood Awakening
International today. – Nobody is taking
political responsibility for what is happening
on our southern border. No, I’m not talking about
illegal immigration. I’m talking about human trafficking. No one wants to take responsibility
for what is happening, and that’s why independent,
military-trained heroes are taking matters into their own hands. Tonight, you’re going to hear
from ex-Navy SEAL David Lopez, who helps to rescue women and children from the nightmare of sex trafficking. Because it’s the end of the 6th day, the sun has set, and this
is Shabbat Night Live. (upbeat music)
(sirens blare) (uplifting music) – As they take this
message out into the world. (sign buzzes)
(audience claps) – Well, Shabbat Shalom, Torah fans. Welcome to Shabbat Night
Live with Michael Rood. I’ll tell ya, tonight
you’re in for a treat. David Lopez joins us, and after what you hear
from what he has to say, you will want to join him
to help in any way you can. David is part of an elite team
of military-trained heroes who rescue victims of sex trafficking. They’re not sending someone else in or sitting back in a board room
hoping that justice happens. They are making it happen
with their own two hands. This is a righteous fight that I guarantee that you will want to help
out with in way that you can. It’s the first of four episodes we’re having on Shabbat Night Live called Operation Innocence. And that is coming up
in just a few minutes. Also, we are at the end
of the 5th biblical month, the month of Av, and we’ve
had five Shabbats this month. It’s also the end of the
Gregorian month of August and we want to thank the many, many people who have stepped up to ensure
that Shabbat Night Live can keep moving forward. They have done that through
our Love Gift program, which changes every month,
and I want to bring on someone who has a special connection
to this month’s love gift, and that is our Ambassador
Club Coordinator Angie Clark. (audience claps)
– Hello, everybody. Shabbat Shalom, Scott.
– Shabbat Shalom, Angie. And you’re not wearing it tonight, but what I’m referring to
– No. – is the love gift this month includes a very special necklace. – Correct. – Now, that is our third tier. We’re doing something special this month where we have three tiers,
the first tier of which is, for a gift of $50 or more, we’ll give you “Growing
Through Limitation.” This is one of Michael’s special teachings on the book of Acts about how
you can grow in your faith and your tenacity about your faith even though you’re being limited, not necessarily by factors due to people, but even by Yehovah Himself. – Very good. – Very interesting, so that is your gift for a gift to the ministry of $50 or more. For $100 or more, we’ll give you this and The Holy Temple. This is a beautiful
painting on a stone plaque. It’s of the Second Temple and it’s something beautiful
you can display in your home, comes with a little stand and everything. And as part of the third tier, they’ll get both of these
things and the necklace. Now tell us about
– I love the necklace that you have.
– the necklace. The necklace is the name, the sacred name. (speaking foreign language) And the vowel points are little diamonds. So it’s very unique and I love mine. – [Scott] And it’s solid sterling silver. – Yes.
– We first saw this and we thought it was maybe plated silver or something,
– No, no, no. – but no, this is solid.
– It’s the real deal and it’s quite the conversation piece. People will ask you, you
know, they’ve asked me, “What is that? “What does that mean?” And so it opens up the door to tell people of what their God’s name is. – Wow, and that was made
by a ministry partner – Yes.
– who developed this thing. Now the reason why we wanna
tell you about this today right off the bat is because, well, you’ve got basically a day left. August 31st, on Shabbat, that is the last day that
we’re gonna have for this and then it’s gone. – Then it’s gone.
– So you gotta make sure you get it, if you want one of these. It’s a beautiful piece – Yes.
– and they’re very limited, so make sure you get in on that. Now, before we get to anything else, we have a testimony. Do we know it?
– Yes, yes. We have a video. Remember, guys, ambassadors, I asked you to send in your videos? This one is from Kia and
it just goes right along with what Dave is talking about
with the human trafficking, which is such a serious, serious ordeal. I thank her for sharing this because she is very
courageous to share it. – All right, well, let’s take a look. – Yep. – Hi. My name is Kia Hepler. My transition from Christianity
into the Hebrew roots doubled as the grooming
process for sexual abuse at the hands of the man
who was my youth pastor. When Yehovah opened my eyes
to see what was happening, I went to the ministry that
was overseeing our fellowship and they tried to twist
scripture to silence me and send me back into the abuse. Needless to say, I developed
a lot of skepticism about organized religion
and religious people. At the Rood Passover 2019 celebration, I was scrutinizing the ministry and had questions I only told Yehovah. Yehovah spoke through Michael and others to answer my questions. Then, when Michael explained
the purposes of mikvah, I knew this was something
I desperately needed. Yehovah met me there and cleansed me so I could walk in newness of life. I experienced the tangible love of Yehovah and I saw a ministry serving Yehovah in spirit and in truth, and
that is what my soul needed. – Okay, well that was from Kia. Amazing video. And we want to have more, don’t we? – Yes, yes.
– Okay. – So remember to send them
in to [email protected], about 30-40 seconds,
and we appreciate you. – Okay, and now with
the other side of things that we like to hear from our
partners is prayer requests. – Yes. – And we have a couple of
prayer requests here, this day. Why don’t you give us an idea here of what folks are needing in their lives. – Sure, sure. This one is from Marguerite, and it says: I have a mentally ill adult son. He needs to be admitted permanently. They’ve been at this for 14 years. She’s afraid he’s a danger
to himself and others and she doesn’t know what to do except to give it to Yehovah and to her brothers
and sisters for prayer. Also, one of our partners, Robin, she just had hip surgery, – Okay.
– so we’re praying for a quick recovery. And then we have two marriages. One’s asking for prayer
because his wife of two years just informed him that
she’s ready for a divorce. And then another, her husband
has walked away from Torah and she’s praying that he comes back. – And that first one of the marriage, I see that there’s a child involved here. – Yes, a three-year-old son. – Oh, gosh, okay. – All right, well why don’t
we pray for these folks. Angie, would you like to pray? – I would love to, Scott. I would love to.
– Okay, why don’t you join us? – Thank you. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, you are a God that
(speaking foreign language), which means you hear and
you answer our prayers. So Father, you’ve heard
each one of these requests and I thank you, Father,
that you are attentive and that you are answering. And Father, I thank you
for all the prayer requests that are out there. People are bowing their
heads right now praying and I ask that you meet them
exactly where they’re at. And we thank you for
this in Yeshua’s name. – [Together] Amen. – Thanks, Angie. – You’re welcome.
– So, prayer, when people want to submit
a prayer request like this, it’s very easy. – Yes.
– All you have to do is go to ARoodAwakening.tv/prayer – Yep.
– and you can do it that way. And also, if you have a testimony, we like to hear about that too. – Love that. – That is at
ARoodAwakening.tv/testimonies. Very simple, you can do that and we will– – Or [email protected]
– Or [email protected] as well, and yet, we really
want the videos, right? I mean that’s something special.
– Yes, yes, yes, yes. Just talk about, you know, what Yehovah’s done for you and what this ministry’s done for you. – [Scott] Okay, wonderful. – Yep. – Now we have a couple other things we’d like to tell you about. Often, we get prayer
requests about health, and that’s something very special – Sure.
– in my heart that I love to help
people with their health and that kind of thing,
do things naturally rather than just–
– He’s helped me so much. – Right.
– Thank you. – You’re welcome. Rather than just running
to the doctor for a pill or a surgery or something like that. I mean, often, those things are necessary for a small period of time,
but I love helping people do something that’s gonna be lifelong, and that’s where we came up
with the Health Awakening show and that has typically just
been on YouTube up until now, but now, it is now on Z Living. Maybe you’ve heard about this. It’s a brand new channel. It’s on Dish Network, channel 191, and you can watch it there. We’re very excited about them. And it’s also on Roku. You can get it on demand there. Also on Sling, one of those new television watching options.
– Awesome. – And it’s also on Amazon Fire. So all you have to do is look for Z Living
– Amazing. – and you can find it. We’re very excited. We have it for an initial 13 weeks and we’re hoping that Z Living likes it, so if you like it and
you’ve seen it there, contact Z Living. Let them know that you want to see more ’cause we have plenty more
shows we can give them. We’ve got something like 30 in
the queue that they can have. – That’s wonderful.
– Let them know if you like it and maybe they’ll air some more That’d be wonderful. Angie, we want to thank you today for coming in on Shabbat Night Live and letting us know of the
folks that need prayers from us. And remember to send
in those videos, folks. [email protected], right?
– That’s correct. – Okay, thank you very much.
– Thank you, Scott. – Now the number one unspoken problem on our southern border is
not undocumented immigrants crossing over to pick apples in Michigan. No, it’s child trafficking, the abduction and rape
of women and children who are being smuggled into
and out of the United States right under our noses. And you’re gonna meet a man
who is helping to stop this and rescue those who have
been kidnapped already. David Lopez joins us for
the first of four episodes of Operation Innocence,
and we have you to thank for making this program happen. Here’s how you can join in and
keep these programs coming. Take a look. (light music) (sign buzzes) (gentle music) Have you ever felt like God had called you to do something special, but
road blocks and limitations stopped you from accomplishing the goal? Sometimes, those
limitations are put in place by the Almighty Himself to
help you develop your faith and patience as you wait
for Him to lead the way. The early disciples encountered
these same limitations as Michael Rood explains in
this month’s Love Gift teaching, “Growing Through Limitation.” – Sometimes, it can happen with the circumstances that are set, that Satan is not smart enough and now you’re fighting against God because He is blocking you. Other times, it’s the Holy Spirit saying, “No, there’s something wrong here. “Don’t get in this ship. “Don’t go do this what
you are attempting to do.” – [Scott] “Growing Through Limitation” is not available for sale
and it’s not on YouTube. But you can own it in August for a love gift donation of just $50. Or donate $100 or more to receive “Growing Through Limitation” plus artwork of the Second Temple printed on a stone plaque display. Or, as a special bonus only in August, you can receive “Growing
Through Limitation,” the Second Temple stone plaque, and a custom-made sterling
silver pendant necklace featuring the name of
God from the Aleppo codex all for a gift of $300 or more. This breathtaking necklace and pendant is solid sterling silver
and the vowel points in the name of God are
flush-set with real diamonds, a fitting tribute to the
name above all names. Limited quantities are
available, so act now. You’ll get Michael Rood’s
exclusive love gift teaching, “Growing Through Limitation”
or a love gift donation of $50, the teaching and the
Second Temple stone plaque for a love gift of $100 or more, or get everything plus the
name of God diamond necklace for a love gift donation of $300 or more. These gifts are a

was with his disciples, the last supper before the
Passover was sacrificed, he took bread and he took wine. He said before that Abraham
saw his day and rejoiced, but what does that mean, he
saw his day and rejoiced? Well, it was Melchizedek,
the king of righteousness, that brought forth bread
and wine to Avraham. He blessed the Most High with a blessing that Avraham taught Yitzchak,
Yitzchak taught Yaakov, and is still spoken today
whenever bread and wine is served at a Jewish table,
whenever it is Sabbath, especially around the world, the bread and the wine are
brought forth with this blessing. (speaking foreign language) Blessed are you, Yehovah our
Elohim, King of the universe, the Creator of the fruit of the vine. And Yeshua then said, “Blessed are you, “Yehovah our Elohim, King of the universe, “who brings forth bread from the earth.” He said, “This represents my body, “which will be broken for you. “This represents my shed blood
that pays the sin penalty “because of the broken covenant.” As often as we do this,
as often as we do this, we do this in remembrance of him. So break the bread, share the wine, and we do this in remembrance
of him until he comes. (driving music) – The number one unspoken problem on the southern border of
the United States of America is not undocumented immigrants coming across to pick apples in Michigan. It’s child trafficking,
the abduction and rape of Latin American women and children who are being smuggled into our country right under our noses. Nobody is taking responsibility for this. It is a political hot potato that no one in our
government wants to touch. Thank God someone does. When the Vietnam War was raging and our pastor left the
pastorate to go to Vietnam, my draft number was such that
I would never be drafted, and so I volunteered. I went into the United
States Marine Corps, a department of the Navy,
because I wanted to engage, I wanted to get into the fight. I wanted to get into a fight
for that which was right and I wanted to fight with the best. Ended up in the Fleet Marine Force, the amphibious assault landing force, because I wanted to
fight with the Marines, I wanted to fight with the best. But all the Marines know that, as the Marines are a
department of the Navy, the most well-trained individuals, the most trained people on planet earth for amphibious assault are the Navy SEALS. My guest today is David Lopez. He is a former United States Navy SEAL who became, as many did
during the Vietnam War, disillusioned with the politics of war. But yet, he is a true
warrior and a believer who was looking for a righteous
fight, and he found one rescuing children from the
nightmare of sex trafficking. Since leaving the Navy, David has trained more than 20 SWAT teams
around the United States and instructed special response teams for the Department of Homeland Security. He has a deep experience and
highly specialized training in classified global
counter-terrorism operations. Over the last several years, he has served as lead tactics instructor and conducted several child
trafficking rescue missions around the world. David, it is an honor and privilege to have you on Shabbat Night Live. Thank you for being here, sir. – Thank you, Michael, for having me. It’s an honor. – Well, David, I was very much
excited about having you in, and we’d been trying to do this for a couple months now.
– That’s right. – So finally, we get to this point, and I wanted really to
start out with a clip, a video clip of an operation
that you were engaged in. This is something that happened in Haiti. And I was wondering if we could start out by you giving us the background
of this particular clip and this operation. – Well this was the
righteous fight that I found and it was an operation
underground railroad. Years ago, a gentleman named Tim Ballard left Homeland Security. He felt like he could do more outside so he started raising funds to rescue children in other countries. And that’s what they do. They go in about 20 different countries and they work with law
enforcement agencies to rescue children. I got attracted to this. I got involved. This organization was down in Haiti and they wanted to contract
me to do some work in Haiti. And what I was doing was I was working with locals on the
ground and building teams to go after traffickers. And so there’s a little bit
of drama here in this one. We made an arrest a few years ago. We rescued 22 children,
arrested about nine traffickers, but what happened afterwards
is they were re-released, people paid off, the officials
in Haiti were paid off, and they were allowed to go free. Well that’s when Tim asked
me to come and get involved and they contracted me to go back in to work with the Haitians
to find these traffickers, and that’s what this video is all about. – Well, let’s take a look at the clip. (dramatic music) – Three years old. Gardy, his name is Gardy. They kidnapped him from the church where Guesno was the pastor. They took him, this little
boy, and they trafficked him. And this happens all the time in Haiti. I remember reading the story and there was a picture of Guesno and my heart just melted as a father, just melted for him, and I thought I know, I have enough experience to know very little is being done
to find this little boy. – I feel that it is my duty,
it is my responsibility to get him back. And I will not let go. – We went in there looking for
Gardy and we never found him. What we did find was two things. We found that this child was trafficked through what looked to
be like an orphanage. It wasn’t an orphanage. And we were asked by the Haitian police to go undercover with hidden cameras and go into this place
that was selling children. They’re selling children for $10,000 and then they raise the price to $15,000. The traffickers were selling kids and we were able to
dismantle that organization. And we had to buy two
children in the process. We had to buy two children, and they were the key to
getting the other kids out. After we got those kids out,
and his son was not there, and I said, “Guesno, I’m so sorry. “Your son’s not there.” There’s 28 children that were rescued, but his son was not there. I started to cry and Guesno was crying, but he only cried for a little bit and then he popped his
head up and he said, “Don’t you realize what just happened?” And I said, “What? “Yeah, what just happened?” He’s smiling now and I
don’t know why he’s smiling ’cause he’s a very smiley guy and he has a light about him and I learned what that light was because he said, “If Gardy
had never been kidnapped, “then your team never would’ve come here “and these 28 kids would
be for sale or be sold.” And I said, “Yeah, I guess I
never thought of it that away.” And then he said maybe
the most profound thing that anyone’s ever said to me. He said, “If I have to sacrifice my son “so that these 28 kids can be rescued,” he said, “that’s a sacrifice
that I’m willing to make.” And that’s when I knew that
we would never leave Haiti. What’s in the video? What’s in it? How old is the girl in the video? Huh? – [Man] 14. We got a 14-year-old right here. – [Man] Yeah, 14 in the video. – [Tim] All right. Have you (bleep) the girl too? (men laughing) Have you been (bleep) that girl? (men laughing) That’s all right, I’m okay with that. – I like little girls. – [Man] You like little girls? What’s the youngest little
girl you’ve ever (bleep) (speaking foreign language) – [Woman] 10? 10 years old?
– 10? – [Woman] Mother (bleep), man. (men laughing) – I sat across from this guy, these guys that they told me about that the children that
they had been raping and they laughed about it. And they’d laugh and they scoffed. And they said, “You get to do it next.” It’s horrifying, horrifying. Now this was on Super Bowl Sunday, and this is where the story
gets very interesting. (dramatic music) – We finally have our
eyes on what’s going on. We’re shifting our mindset. There’s two of them that we
have, we still need to verify and we’re gonna have reconnaissance teams running the rest of the day. It limits what we want
to do during the day. We would rather not do a snatch and grab on the side of the street in
the middle of the daytime. It’s very hard to sneak up to people with the way this traffic
is and do that effectively. It’s very low chance. We’re talking like 15% chance of actually getting these guys. So everyone knows, Andrew
knows this area we’re going to better than anyone. He’s lived there for periods of his life so he knows this better, honestly, he knows this
better than the police that are putting us in it. He knows this area. – In a nutshell, top of
the trees perspective, our activities tonight are gonna
take place in Petion-Ville, which is a wealthier
part of Port-au-Prince where there’s several hotels,
so there’s a lot of working, there’s a lot of prostitution going on. – In a nutshell, the birds-eye view here is we’re going after three
different targets, okay. And one of them’s a female. This is our ace in the hole mission. If everything else fails, we’re getting this chick tonight. She’s awful. Andrew can go into more detail. – [Tim] Is Cho, is she going
to be like out in the street? Is he like a pimp, she’s
got some prostitutes working for her? Do you know what we’re
going to be looking for? – [Man] Yeah, she’s into
trafficking and she’s the boss. She’s the head of a cartel. Okay? She’s like a captain,
a captain in the mafia. She’s crossing the street,
she’s crossing the street. That’s Cho right there, crossing the street with the white pants. That’s her right there. That’s Cho right there. That’s the boss right there. – [Tim] She does not like this. – [Man] That’s the boss right there. – All those girls are working for her. She’s their pimp. And Cho has, she is number one. She pimps out young girls and she has the legal girls
on the street visible, but like, she has a
little house back there where one of our operators
had seen underage – We’re now moving.
– girls. – If there’s any holes
in the logic right now, anything glaring that
anyone’s thinking about, this is like the time to beat it to death ’cause this is all coming
together very quick and I guarantee there’s more things. – You know, what I want to
do is start with a prayer. – [Man] Let’s do it. – What about the… What about your special prayer? – [David] You want me to pray that prayer?
– I kinda do, yeah. – All right. We’ll just like bow our heads
and I’ll sing it real quick. (singing in foreign language) May Yehovah bless you and keep you. My Yehovah let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May Yehovah lift up His
countenance upon you and give you shalom. Amen. Perimeter one and perimeter two, as long as we got eyes
looking outboard with guns while we’re in the middle,
that’s the only goal here. We’re making these things
like really simple. But we don’t all rush to the middle of the action, you know, and that’s what rookies do, right, that’s what idiots do. They have a job and even if
they don’t like their job, like even if it’s not the cool job, this is their damn job. – I think it goes without saying, we don’t want them to know where we’re staying tonight at all and if we need to take different routes or just be really familiar
with who’s behind you and who could be following you. Even if it’s a little motorcycle, those guys are the worst. Motorcycle guys are bad and they’re gonna be informants
so we want to sleep safely and those driving to the airport tomorrow, we don’t want any issues. (dramatic music) – All right, you guys, up
there where the lights are, (speaking foreign language) Where the lights are is
about where she’s at. – I see it.
– It’s this car, it’s this car pulled over, okay. (speaking foreign language) – [Man] Yeah, and we close that? – [Tim] Yeah, it’s right here, you guys.
– It’s right here, right here. – [Tim] Okay. Okay, ready? (speaking foreign language) – [Man] Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. (speaking foreign language) (hands clapping)
(speaking foreign language) – Thank you.
(speaking foreign language) You’re an inspiration to all of us This is another example of bravery and strength of the Haitian people. – Thank you. – [Man] Thank you. Thank you, my brothers. – Thank you. (speaking foreign language) – What’s important for me is
that we’ve made this effort and we made this happen with
a lot of preparation and work. (speaking foreign language) And I’m prepared to collaborate with you so we can keep up this work so there’s zero human trafficking. (gentle music) – David, trained warriors going in and then you’re instructing, you’re teaching the people of that nation how to rescue their own
people taking part in this. This is an incredible
testimony of the love of God and also of great courage
to go into this situation. Thank you. – Thank you, Michael. It’s an honor being able
to do this kind of work after so many years looking
for this kind of fight. A lot of amazing people went
into that one operation, so a lot of work that
went in ahead of that. – Well, I certainly was impressed that the team asked you to
say the Aaronic blessing and how you actually did that, how you sang the Aaronic
blessing with the name. And where does this all start? Now this isn’t something you grew up with? Where did it all start,
your religious upbringing? – So it started as a
young, evangelical boy, Southern Baptist boy
from Roanoke, Virginia. Both of my parents were ministers,
my father and my mother. My father was a pastor. He started his own congregation. And so–
– Okay, so we’ve got a similar background. I was Northern Baptist. You were Southern Baptist. The Southern Baptists, they could smoke. Up north, if you smoked, you went to hell, but down south, the preachers even smoked. Was your dad a smoker? – Not at all, not at all.
– Okay, all right.
– No smoking, no drinking. – No smoking or drinking, okay.
– That’s right, that’s right.
– See, they had different rules and regulations even
in the Baptist church, – That’s very true.
– where you go to heaven or hell. What kind of conflicts were
you running into as a child? Were you a good preacher’s kid? – Well, I ended up–
– Now I don’t want too many, okay, we don’t want anything that you can, a statute of limitations. – I had a lot of
questions from a young age and I was never satisfied
with weak answers that just didn’t suffice logic and they didn’t give me what I needed. So I remember one time,
I was about 13 years old, and a boy came up to me
and he was talking about this once saved always saved. And he was making this argument that it doesn’t matter what you do after you say this prayer, you’re in. – Right, and it’s that formula. You have to say this prayer, and once you say that prayer, you’re in. You could live like the devil, – That’s right. – and yet, you’re saved. – And that’s exactly what he was saying, and I immediately, I was
responding to this boy without any biblical understanding or knowledge at this time, said, “There’s no way that’s true.” I just knew instinctively as a young kid, and I think most people
do, that’s not fair. That’s what really started it ’cause I realized that kid was actually, it wasn’t just the kid, that was a very serious, insulated belief within my own religious structure that I clearly could see was wrong. Now later on, I went and studied the Bible and actually found out why it wasn’t true for my own need, but most
of those things I found out were things I just knew instinctively could not be true about the Creator. – Yeah, in my experience, I think that… We have grown up in a world in which we’ve got one verse Bible answers and you select the verse – Yes.
– that supports your particular theology and you ignore all the other contradictory evidence as if it doesn’t exist. – That’s exactly what,
most of the doctrines that I had grown up with, I realized, when I started to test
these different doctrines, other people would lay this context at me that I wasn’t even used
to ’cause I was the guy that learned the little
parts of each area. So I realize that in myself, that a lot of my theologies
were very much snippets, small snippets of scripture, so that was what started to wake me up to go, “What else am I
believing that’s wrong?” So that was the beginning. – That’s quite a confession
from a preacher’s kid. You grew up not knowing the Bible. – Yeah.
– You know the snippets that support the positions.
– Oh yeah, oh yeah.
– But knowing the Bible and how it fits together from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, we’re never told the whole story. – Oh, no.
– It’s never put together. We get our theology off
the Hallmark Channel. – Only small sound bites from
a certain part of the Bible. Oh and one part is talked about. The Tanakh, the Torah is
completely irrelevant. Even the gospels, in my upbringing, weren’t very highlighted. Strange, but I mean they
weren’t the centerpiece. – Well, you know, I really want
to dig into this background and what brought you into the Navy SEALS and where you are today, but we’re gonna have to take
a break for just a minute because we want to give our people around the world an opportunity to support this ministry,
to stand with us, because we are getting
gospel of the Kingdom that Yeshua taught out to the world. We’re taking the stand and
illuminating the things that, the scriptures talk about
justice and righteousness and that men of God have got to rise up, they’ve got to take a
stand, and they are the ones that have to establish
justice in the earth. This is not God’s purview. He says a man that takes
another man’s life, or men stealing, that one who is caught with child, abducted
children, those pedophiles, people that are doing
this, they must be executed according to the scripture. – That’s right.
– We’re not pulling any punches here, ladies and gentlemen. We’re not telling you
sweet baby Jesus stories. We’re not telling you the same things that you’ve heard over and
over and over your entire life. It’s time for people and
men of God to rise up and where justice is
met out in this country. And where we go for justice
is to the Righteous Judge of the universe because
He alone can take down the wickedness in this generation. We’ll be back right after this. (gentle music) We are back with our special guest, former Navy SEAL David Lopez. In our opening segment, I began
to tell about the Marines, which is a department of the Navy. I end up being part of the
amphibious assault landing. But the SEALS are much
more than just sea-to-land. Tell us a little bit about
the mission of the SEALS and why they have gained such
notoriety around the world as the foremost fighting
unit on planet earth? – Well that’s, you know, traditionally, we’re known for all these
different components. We can get into countries
through jumping out of planes, through the sea. It’s an insertion method. So that’s initially
why we became malleable to different generals, the
people that wanted to use us, because we have different ways
of getting into countries. But now, with the wars in Afghanistan and the wars in Iraq, we
mainly are focusing on what we call direction action. And so what we do is we take
apart a terrorist network and we dissect them and then we work on taking out the heads of those
terrorist organizations. So a lot of that is nighttime
operations, nighttime raids, and it’s a constant revolving cycle where you wake up at nighttime and you’re asleep during the daytime and it’s all done very, very… It’s almost like clockwork. We know our job so well now and every facet of those missions, even the contingencies, are
all very properly planned out. But it’s a well oiled machine now so we’re very, very successful at it. – Well that really shows… This comes to pass in a very real way with what you’re doing in Haiti. These are nighttime operations, and as we saw, that you were directing – Right.
– the operation in that. So well planned out. You gave everyone a
chance to beat it to death with whatever situation
that could come up. Let’s talk about it now,
let’s get it all hammered out. And so you’re directing
SEALS, former military, – Yeah.
– in this operation because they know how to take orders and how to stand their ground. – That’s right. The military is full of guys that have gotten out wanting more. They’re guy’s just like me. They went in. They wanted to be a part of something. They wanted to fight evil. And they did do that. I’m not suggesting that they
didn’t get to do that at all. But guys get out wanting more. It’s that simple. So I have hundreds of
guys knocking on my door trying to get into these
countries and do work. Now that we don’t have the apparatus of the military behind us, it takes a lot more
relationship-building in countries to be able to do positive work. So really, I glean a lot
from our Green Beret buddies, our Army counterparts,
and those guys specialize in building teams inside countries, indigenous teams that fight for you. Right, that’s the whole point
of what Green Berets do. So we really have molded a little bit into that Green Beret mission set to be able to do the kind
of stuff that we do today. – Those who are a little
bit older than I remember that our action, our
police action in Vietnam that we heard about on the
news about the advisors, the advisors.
– Yes. – And these are Green
Berets who are going in, embedding in, and they
are training the people, and this is actually what
you’re doing there in Haiti with this operation.
– That’s exactly what we’re doing. Any kind of sustained
approach that you wanna have has to have local support. There’s no good in just
a group of Americans coming in and coming out and doing work that doesn’t have any sustainability, so the best thing we can do is help inspire not just a moral component that’s a movement inside the country, but a way to focus people,
a way to give them the needs that they have to go after
these different networks. – I would suggest, perhaps
you can clarify on this, that if Americans went down in Haiti, busted doors down and
started shooting people, you’d be the first to be
arrested by the United States, – Yes.
– but the people of Haiti, they have responsibility. – That’s right. – And that’s really where the
push for freedom from slavery really began, in Haiti. – Oh, Haiti has a very,
very unique history, particularly pertaining to our history. It was the Haitian Civil War, which was the first slave revolt, that threw the French out and
then declared independence. It was such a pinnacle moment that it was, our abolitionist movement
inside the United States was motivated by that civil war. So you could argue, and historians have, that there wouldn’t have
been an abolitionist movement in the United States had it
not been for the Haiti revolt. – And now, all this sex trafficking and slavery that’s going on in Haiti. Finally, there are men who are rising up, – Yes.
– who are becoming real men and deciding we’re
not gonna take any more. We are going to do… We’re gonna do the godly things. We’re gonna bring in righteous judgment and we’re gonna stop this now. – Absolutely. And there’s amazing guys
that aren’t seeking glory. They’re just seeking the ability to help these kids however they can. And so it’s all about our relationships on the ground with those locals. That is the key to everything that we do. It is their country. It is their initiative. We are there to support. – Now, Dave, I know that your story, your lifetime story really
unfolds in a fascinating way. You, again, raised as a preacher’s kid, but you became disillusioned, but yet, you’re still searching for truth, and that led you to England of all places. – (chuckles) Yeah.
– Tell us about that because that’s where we
really get connected, in a remote way, in England. – Well a very, very good
friend of mine invited me to go to England for a
couple weeks over the summer. And at this point in my life I thought I–
– This is back what year? – This was back in 2002. 2002.
– Oh, okay, all right.
– I was just finishing high school. I thought I was gonna play
football the rest of my life, there was a few colleges
that were recruiting me, and I went off to this two-week
trip and then they asked me, “Do you want to come back for a year?” and I said, “That doesn’t make any sense. “I’m gonna play football.” I’d built my whole career. I thought that that was
where I was gonna go, was gonna play football, it’s all I got.
– Yeah, usually Navy SEALS don’t come from a scrawny book learner
– (chuckles) Right, right. – to the elite fighting force, and so your career looked like
it was gonna be in football. – Well they invited me to come back to work with his ministry
for a year and I said, I don’t know what it was inside me, it was what they were triggering me. They were triggering
me to think for myself. It was a big changing point. ‘Cause Derek Prince is one of
the foremost Bible scholars in the Christian world that highlights Israel’s purpose in the end times and the miracles that
have come to pass to date that really give the
Bible a lot more of a, instead of this kind of vague
belief that you need to have, it’s just this very concrete, and he really broke through to me and challenged me in a great way in England.
– This is amazing because, you know, at this time,
2002, I am in Israel. I am at, you know, working, starting to work with Christ Church, and this is where Derek Prince is coming into Israel to teach. And Derek Prince is to say that’s where
got linked up remotely because I considered Derek
Prince to be the great teacher, the Bible teacher for this generation. – I agree.
– He has since passed away. – I agree.
– But he was buried just about 10 blocks away from
where I lived in Jerusalem. And a great respect for him. And that’s where things
started to turn from you, from kind of a jaded perspective and your alienation from
the rules and regulations manufactured by the Baptist religion to where you started to see
a real life of the Spirit there in England. – The moment I realized these prophecies were happening in Israel, it made me start to go, “Why
is Israel being reborn?” In my mind, it was all about
the Christians replacing it, and so this–
– Is that not how you were raised though?
– That’s exactly how I was raised, so to see
concrete things happening to the Jewish people made
me rethink everything. It made me want to, once I saw the way he
laid out those prophecies, they’re very, very well put together, I was like, “I’m gonna study this.” So I went back to study the
whole Old Testament, the Tanakh, and that was eventually
the search later on that led me years later to
the Hebrew roots movement. It was Derek Prince that started it, Derek Prince as a Christian theologian and minister that started it. – Well, I am very unashamedly a proponent of Derek Prince’s teachings. – And that’s–
– As I say, when I go out walking, I’ll
walk for hours at a time, and what I have in my ear, I’m listening to Derek Prince. And there are things that he… Well, first of all, he was in Israel when Israel became a nation in one day.
– Yes, he was. – He helped to rescue Arab
children and Jewish children and he adopted
– He adopted them, yeah. – a number of them and he led them through a most dangerous time. He was a former officer
in the British Army. He was a… – [David] A medic. – That’s right, a medic. But before that, he was
a philosophy professor, Cambridge University and–
– King’s College. – Yeah, that’s right. And I often said this. You could just take any
teaching of Derek Prince, a live teaching, transcribe it, and you wouldn’t have to change it one bit and you could publish the book. – Absolutely.
– He spoke so precisely and precisely concerning the scripture. – He always said this. He said, “Keep it simple, stupid.” And he always said… And he also said, “Don’t
major on the minors.” He was very concrete about his beliefs. He knew the language, he knew the context, he was a real studious scholar, and he conveyed it very simply. The one thing that he conveyed to me, that for me was life-changing, covenant. He believed, even from an
evangelical perspective, that covenant is about
you owning up to yourself and a promise that God
will fulfill His part if we fulfill our part. That was very new to me so he was definitely the catalyst for sending me down my path. – Well, I continue to encourage people, listen to Derek Prince.
– Yes. – There’s very few bones
that you have to spit out with Derek Prince.
– I completely agree. – There are some things
that he didn’t quite get, but you know, a lot it,
as you pointed out to me and I thought it was very insightful, is that he was protecting
the Jews, not Judaism, but because of all the
anti-Semitism, and again, this is a time where
the Holocaust survivors were coming back into Israel. They were having to man up and fight against insurmountable odds, and he wasn’t gonna let
anyone take them down. He was gonna stand with them with his own life,
– That’s right. – with his wife and
children in the crossfires. And so, you know, there were things that, you know, now we understand that need to be clarified
about Phariseeism, about the rules and
regulations that they invented that are completely contrary to the Torah. The Torah says no one
adds, no one subtracts, to the commandments given at Mount Sinai. And you know, we have basically a religion of adding and subtracting. But honestly, as Baptists, we have to admit that our whole religion was based on the adding and subtracting of manmade rules and regulation – The same way.
– in our thing. So I don’t let anyone chomp
on the Pharisees too hard without turning the table – I agree.
– and pointing the finger at them. Don’t complain about the Pharisees when you’re doing the same
thing, but it’s even worse. – And there are people, there’s two types of people
criticizing the Pharisees. There’re people criticizing
them for the right reasons that Yeshua mentioned and
the people criticizing them because they criticized everything Jewish. There’s two types of people. And so I can kinda see why
Derek would jump in there to defend people from that perspective, you know, and I get it. I mean that’s one of the negatives
things you see happening. A lot of times, people are
just criticizing anything that looks Jewish. – Now you went from England, not back into the football world, but into the Peace Corps
and working with them. Tell us about that,
about the chain of events that finally bring us together here on Shabbat Night Live. – Yeah, so I had this wild year of reevaluating my faith in England. I end up going to Guatemala after that. I lived in Guatemala
for about five months. And I was working with
a number of churches and then the Peace Corps would come down to do their medical clinics. I would help translate for them. I was learning Spanish on
the fly as I was down there. I started to see a number of problems with short-term mission work. And I don’t want to suggest,
before anyone says anything, that I’m saying all mission work is bad or all of them are doing it this way, but what I saw was a lot of people coming into the country for five days, pretending like they’re
building some house for some pastor, but they–
– All right. Be specific because this is
how the US and Christians are perceived worldwide
because of these faux, some of these faux mission trips and all. I want you to be specific on this because we don’t want to
fall into that category or that trap, so I want
you to be specific. You were there, you paid the price, you were there, you learned the language, and you got to–
– It’s the ATM missionaries out there. – Okay.
– So what the people in the country are perceiving
is here’s an ATM for us. And what these people did is they said, “We want to
build a house for this pastor,” but when they came down there, they actually had the
Guatemalans do all the work, they sat there and watched, and then they write this
amazing newsletter back home, look at the amazing work we’ve done, and then they have this
big come to Jesus moment in church later on. And all these people that I know, I’d been living with these
Guatemalans, I knew them. And they have this altar call and they said, “If anyone
wants to receive Jesus, “please come forward,” and everyone in the community that I was
in went forward to get saved. And I remember talking
to my friend and I said, “Why on earth are these people, “these people been going
to this church for years, “why are they doing this?” and he said, “Well, he knows that’s
what the Americans want. “He knows that they
want to have a big story “and salvation stories.” What a lot of Americans don’t realize is those countries that we’re
frequenting know the game. And partly, it’s like
they know what they want, which is they need help, right. They need any financial sustenance. I get it. And what a lot of people are wanting when they go down there is to feel good. You know what I mean? Is to look–
– Feeling like they’re doing something worthwhile
– Yes. – to the world.
– So everyone wins in that kind of situation, I guess, you know, in a weird way. So I think… A lot of things like this,
I saw this around the world, and I’ve been all over the
world, almost every continent, and I see a lot of this happening. It’s one of the things that
made me quite disillusioned. – Yep. Well, let’s bring up something
that we saw in the film. Here was an organization
that was putting on the face that they’re an orphanage,
but was really a sales office for sex slaves. – Yeah.
– These are children, that no, it’s not an orphanage. These people are being sold. – That’s right.
– And that is what, that’s what you went down and disrupted. – And that’s the major problem. Anytime there’s a massive
displacement of people, whether it’s an earthquake,
a natural disaster, a civil war that causes
massive displacement, this is where the traffickers come in, they set up fake orphanages,
they set up fake centers for welcoming in refugees,
and they start selling people out the back of them. They don’t care where they
go as long as they get money. – Yep.
– So that’s the beginning of the chain where, eventually, there’s a strand of that
that becomes sex trafficking. A lot of it’s for labor, but a lot of people, there’s
huge demand for young children. – Now I want to bring that
all the way back around to what the Christian facade is, where there are real
orphanages that are set up and they have been caught. Some people in America,
these televangelists have raised over $5 million to support their particular orphanages in these countries, such as Haiti, and it turns out that they
have given a total of $2,500 out of five million that have been raised, and that was so they could make a sign saying such-and-such-a-ministry’s
orphanage. And so it’s all a facade. See, these countries know that. – They know.
– They know that this is what’s going on. And this is the guilty, the
underbelly of Christian missions and Christian televangelism to raise money for things that they never do, like raising millions of dollars to get the gospel of the
Kingdom around the world, and if you ask anyone,
they couldn’t tell you the gospel of the Kingdom
to save their lives. They have no idea what it is. This is my tirade. – Well there was an American
I was doing a lot of work on. He was down in Haiti. American. Has a ministry. It’s all about helping Haiti. He has this amazing ministry. He has a number of different orphanages and he’s cycling kids through each one and, eventually, they’re
selling them out the other side. Has this yacht and everything like that. This is exactly what’s happening and there’s multiple Americans. It’s strange. It always is under the guise of religion. Almost always, when you
see these types of rings, these fake orphanages being set up, and there’s business models
attached to those non-profits. – Ah. Well, David, this is
the end of this segment. We could go on and we’re going to.
– Yeah, we could. – I want you to come back next week. I want to continue on with this because you are going
to now join the Navy. You’re now going to become a Navy SEAL, and I want you to take us
through that journey with you to where you are today. So thanks for being with us. – Thank you, Michael.
– Ladies and gentlemen, and I’m going to have David
do the Aaronic blessing for all of us here today. And because he knows the name and knows how it is to be pronounced, whether you want to say it or you sing it, – I’ll sing it.
– I think you, you’ve got a beautiful voice. Please, close with the Aaronic blessing. (singing in foreign language) – May Yehovah bless you and protect you. May Yehovah let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May Yehovah lift up His
countenance upon you and give you shalom. – In the name of our Messiah,
our Savior, and our King, the one who will rescue
us all in the end, Yeshua. Amen. (gentle music) (logo rumbles)
