Hey guys, episode 2 of the vlog, been a really busy week so far. As you saw from the intro there I spent some time in Edinburgh at some meetings, and I’ve been reflecting on one year since I got the keys to Getgo. That doesn’t mean the businesses is one year, but it’s been very, very interesting. Trying to get the workspace up to something has been nice to spend time in, and also get the studio, anyway, as you can see, I’m in Queensferry right now and actually it’s freezing. So I’m gonna take myself into the studio. Back in the studio, Okay? For full transparency, this isn’t actually straight after that in fact, it’s the next day but I had to come back to the studio and just get on with some stuff, and doing this vlog unfortunately, wasn’t one of them. Anyway, as Getgo Studio is coming up to 12 months old, that will be February 2020, I’ve been spending some time reflecting on the first year of the business, always a very difficult year. That involves some post it notes, positives, negatives and looking at how it can turn those negatives into positives and crush them. Anyway, I want to show you some of the results of that now, because it may be a little helpful exercise for you to do, it certainly is for me. So here we have the results of the exercise over here, some of this maybe a little out of focus, I do apologise. We’ve got the positives. An example of some of those Getgo has a fairly solid reputation already brilliant, quite early for that. Great clients. Good relationships. Have had tonnes of fun, especially on the road. Brilliant new relationships with suppliers, camera crew, all that type of stuff. Our work’s been of a good quality. Courses have been successful. And there’s strong awareness of the brand, which is great. Then moving over here, we’ve got the negatives and actually there are less of those than the positives, which is a good thing. Big one, stress, which I’m sure a lot of you feel, I’m just really bad at taking time out, I’ve had very little in the last year, so the action point for that is more time-off. There’s no point in having negatives without knowing what you’re gonna do about them. Profit margin, big issue. I need to look at the fee structure as soon as possible. Need more projects, need to ramp-up evidence based marketing. By that, I mean, we’ve got loads of work to show people now, so make the most of it. The actual studio is not business enough, what, am I gonna, busy enough, sorry, what we going to do about that? I’m gonna create clear packages so it’s easier for people to buy. And what’s the real USP? So I need to redefine purpose vision and the hook. That may well be the most boring minute you spend this week looking at my post it notes, but hopefully it’s actually a helpful exercise to go through. I think particularly at the end of a year, as you look, towards the new year, it will probably show you that you’re doing better than you think. If you’re like me, you may have a bit of imposter syndrome. You may focus on the negatives too much, but that helps you frame things and look at how you’re going to improve things in the next year. I have no idea why I stopped that clip, I should have just carried on to the end, but you know, this is rough, it’s ready, it’s a vlog. I’m enjoying doing this. If you’ve got any feedback, please do drop a comment. If you’re watching this on YouTube, do subscribe or follow me or whatever you do on any other platform, you may be watching this. I’m going to keep it going. So if you’ve got anything you’d like me to try and cover, let me know. Anyway, have a great day. That is a wrap on Episode 2. All right.
