Dear friends, today marks the beginning of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity organized by the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity in Association with different Christian Churches. It is a great moment in our ecclesial life when we listen to Jesus who prayed to his father that all may be one. So it seemed important to us at CHARIS to associate ourselves with this event. As you know, CHARIS has received as one of its main objectives to work for the unity of Christians, and we are convinced that this unity will come through prayer, so we invite all of you who are part of the current of grace of the charismatic renewal to join this initiative of the Christian churches and to pray for eight days so that the unity of the church may be realized. So to associate us with this event, you will find every day on the CHARIS website, & as well as on facebook, a two minute video that will help us to enter into this process of prayer. We have asked people involved in the charismatic renewal and also in the work of Christian unity to give us a small meditation of two minutes each day and you will also find on the same page the prayer that is proposed during this week since each day a particular prayer is proposed to us. The last speaker will be Cardinal Koch, President of the Dicastery for Christian Unity. So dear friends, I invite you to this week of prayer and let us intercede with strength so that Jesus’ prayer may be realized and that we may all be united in him. Thank you.
